My Memories of teachers

ok, i didn't get any response on the last blog so i thought i would write a few of my memories of teachers. Mrs. Church in the auditorium classroom always got me and Janice Simmons mixed up, as well as Billy and Johnny Parker. Mr. Deladorie with his "high tech" over head projector ( now that i think back it was probably laziness cause all he had to do was work the math problems one time). Mrs. Loupe one of the toughest teachers I had, gave me a B+ on a paper instead of an A- because she was tired of the subject (it was new to me). Mr. Powers with his white hair putting the chairs in a circle so we could "discuss" literature. Coach Keaton whistling all through our final exam in civics (I was ready to show him a real tackle). Mrs. Jenkins having us do a new dance step exercise thing in PE that we now call aerobics (but back then it wasn't really heart pumping like today).

Anyone else have any memories?

I remember coach Bill Bofinger great legs-i never dreamed he would become my brother-in law(how great is that) and coach jenkins-i hated her she was always so rude to everybody-ran into her later and guess what "still rude"
other then that the rest are a blur until someone brings up a story about them to open that memory bank

Ok, I remember Mrs. Neal, my Home Ec teacher. She was pretty strict. Also, there was another Home Ec teacher that always made me rip out my stitches on an item I was sewing! I remember Confederette practice after school and all of the fun parties we had at people’s houses to paint the “run-through” for the football games. Of course, I definitely remember Colonel Boswell! He acted like he was still in the military. His class was like a college American History class because he would just assign us reading without a lecture (he spent class telling war stories), and then give us a test on it! There were several good students who even made C’s. He would make the ROTC guys stand at attention in the back of the class if they got in trouble! (Do any of you ROTC guys remember??) Col. Boswell’s favorite expression was “you don’t get something for nothing” which I utilize today. To his credit, however, I was able to make A’s in my college history classes after learning how to study in Col. Boswell’s class.

Judy,

Help me out with a memory. I was in the first ever Humanities class with Mrs. West and Mr. ????. She taught English and he taught History. I can’t believe that my brain has lost his name as he was a favorite teacher. I thought others would remember that the Humanities class traveled to a teacher’s conference to sing “I’d like to Teach the World to Sing” and do a square dance! I can’t believe those teachers motivated the guys in the class to do it!

I remember home-ec 1st hour followed by English with Mrs. Sandifer 2nd hour. If we were late to English because we were cooking, we were always forgiven if we brought treats to share with Mrs. Sandifer.

Kathy Finley and I had a contest Sr. year to see who could get her picture in the yearbook the most times. (I think we tied?)

Winning the Miss Betty Crocker award Sr. year! Horribly embarrassing.

Thanks,

Last week while in Pensacola, staying at a fine 7 bedroom house on, get this (Ariola St.) yes, where we stayed on our Senior trip, as well as going to all during highschool, I ran into Mrs. Ann Beacham, who said she taught science, I think, at Lee while we were there. She looks good and is doing well, she was at the beach with her family and having fun.
I told her I would mention to our class that she is doing well.
thanks

I remember making the trek up the hill every day from "Senn to Church". Mrs. Senn had to be my favorite teacher at Lee. Also had great times in the band. The "blackout" show was fantasic as we played Dixie on the field. I remember trying my hardest to win the "Spirit Stick" given to the student showing the most spirit during the week of the game. I couldn't talk for a week after the game and still didn't win the stick.
